It looks like you are doing a great job! About a year and a half ago, I adopted a beautiful 3 year old stud from the BLM. I had spent my life riding and showing horses but had never started one. An ambitious first! With the help of my aunt, who is an accomplished trainer, Ghost is now the saddle horse of my dreams. Working with him has been the most rewarding experience of my life. My aunt and I think that although the mustangs don't know anything, they are also unspoiled. They also seem to be unusually in tune with the "natural horsemanship" theories. Anyway, sorry this is so wordy. Its just a subject I get excited about and its nice to talk to someone who can relate. Good Luck!
Hi Lynn, you all are doing great, and Jimbo is beautiful!
My EMM horse Tripp still does not like the plastic bag - I am looking at those pictures of you and the bag...while riding! If I tried that, Brian would have to use a bigger lens to catch me flying thru the air while Tripp hit the road! Ha ha! We are still working on it - just not overly much.
Keep up the good work and hope to see you in Texas!
I have been meaning to get back with you...but life has been sooo busy!! We wanted to come to the pre-works, but it's not gonna work out. If it wasn't so far away we would definitely be there. It would take us over 12hrs to get there & probably cost $500 or more just in gas!!! I would love to meet you & everybody. Email me next week, if you get a chance, and let me know how it went. I would like a heads up on the competition .
There is a small arena nearby that puts on rodeos for the community and this weekend they are having a cow sorting practice, and even though I have never done it before, I think it would be really great to get Jimbo the exposure...
It's nice to know that I won't be the only one there in Sept. that has never shown before....I know that I will be a nervous wreck!!!! I get a knot in my stomach already! Maybe we can hang out and be nervous together!!!
Hi Lynn, Just to help you out, I've never shown before either, nor have I competed, so you're not alone!I did this because I wanted to have a part of starting a mustang and see that he gets a good home. Check out my blog www.laurenmustangmakeover.blogspot.com Keep up the good work! Lauren
